Bobby Markels Founders Fund
The Mendocino
Coast Children’s Fund was started in
1992. We are now beginning our
second generation as an all
volunteer, grassroots non-profit
child advocacy organization. The
local babies born in 1992 are
graduating high school this year.
We would like to
mark this milestone by establishing
a Founder's Fund. Our Founders’ Fund
is named for founder, Bobby Markels
and the original community members
who started the MCCF: Bobby Markels,
Betty Barber,
Inge Bell, Mary Cardiff, Rabbi
Margaret Holub, Marschall McNeil,
Rene Oschin and Lynette Zimmer.
The Bobby
Markels Founders’ Fund will allow
the dream of the Mendocino Coast
Children's Fund to continue to help
the next generation of local
children who need a little help to
get by.
Life events
contributions to the Founders’ Fund
such as birthdays, marriages, and
anniversaries are a wonderful way to
acknowledge someone important in
your life.
One donor
recently sent us MCCF Bobby Markels
Founder Fund donation in memory of
her beloved daughter Madeline who
was killed in a car accident three
years ago. Another annually
highlights her affection for her
late sister by sending us a Founder
Fund donation in memory of her
sister Inge who was a long time
Mendocino resident and supporter of
the Children’s Fund.
Recently, we
received a loving life event
donation that was collected at a
reunion of local coastal musicians.
"Besides having a great time we
wanted to play it forward by doing
something to help our local
children."
