How do we work?

One hundred percent (100%) of your donated funds goes directly to children. We pay no rent or salaries. We operate out of our businesses and homes. The board pays operational expenses out of our own pocket unless a donor designates funds to us for this use. What we lack in money challenges us to use creativity and heart. 

We rely on the referrals and recommendations of teachers, social workers, coaches, medical staff and other community professionals who work with children.  All requests for aid come from these children advocates and are reviewed and authorized by a rotating committee of the MCCF Board of Directors. 

All commitments are paid directly by the Fund to the provider or vendor. Cash is not given to children or their families. We make every effort to make sure the child receives our response as recognition rather than charity. 

Board members balance their concern that requests are appropriate with an equal effort to make sure that the dignity of the child is honored and the privacy of the family is respected. 

 We want to reach out to children in a way that makes childhood a bit more fun and trouble free.
