Who We Are

We are the oldest grassroots, nonprofit advocate for low income and at risk children in Mendocino County. We began in 1992 and have been serving children for 28 years as an all volunteer effort.

The Vision of the Mendocino Coast Children's Fund is to support a community in which all children and families have the opportunity to reach their full potential in life. Our Mission is to provide funding for the unmet needs of infants and children on Mendocino's north coast.

We provide children with essentials and necessities, hopes and dreams, opportunities and activities. We are a safety net, catching children from birth through age 18 who otherwise would fall through the cracks of society's inequities. We provide our life experiences, professional backgrounds, connections to community, and ability to get things done for children in the most beneficial way possible.

We respect the dignity of all children and the privacy of all families, by working in the background to quietly provide needed resources and experiences for children.

During community tragedies and disasters, MCCF takes the lead in creating effective and accountable SOS responses to the challenge at hand whether a personal family crisis, a wildfire or a public health epidemic.

We are a trusted partner of the County, City of Fort Bragg, school districts, Red Cross, local and regional foundations and community members like you.

Letter from the Board

Dear Community,
From Westport to Gualala (and inland to Comptche), the Mendocino Coast Children’s Fund responds 365 days a year. From diapers to diplomas, we have been saying yes to the needs and dreams of local children in need for 29 years.

MCCF is your neighbors and friends, banding together as advocates to make sure all coastal children can thrive and be healthy.

Here at home, your donation makes an important difference, one child and one kindness at a time. Since 1992, thanks to you, our community inspired non-profit has said yes to kids.  Many of our donors remember the kindness you provided when they were children. Their private notes to us touch our hearts.

Early investments in children are the best a community can make! One hundred percent of your donation goes to help the children! The generosity of  anonymous  and legacy donors pay our small expenses so that every dollar you send goes to the kids.

Kindest regards from your MCCF board
