Rental Assistance For Low Income Fort Bragg Residents Now Available

October 26, 2020

Residents living within the city limits of Fort Bragg with low or moderate income may qualify for some assistance in paying their monthly rent if their household income has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This rental subsidy program is funded by a $500,000 HOME Investments Partnerships Program grant approved by the City Council in May.

The rental assistance is retroactive to April 1, 2020 and the program runs through December 31, 2020. Qualified applicants can self-certify as to their monthly income and once approved by the program operator, past-due rent, current and future rent will be paid by the City directly to the tenant’s landlord during the program term (ending December 31, 2020).

A few things to know:

·         This is not a loan.

·         Payments are made directly to Landlords.

·         The Program pays 100% of approved past due rent from April 1, 2020.

·         Income is a 12 month projection from the date you apply.

·         Applicants must provide active Social Security Numbers.

Completed applications can be left in the locked Drop Box at the front of City Hall, 416 N. Franklin Street or emailed to tbra@fortbragg.com.  Assistance will be granted to qualified applicants on a first come, first served basis.

The City’s website has further information. Requests will be responded to in the order they are received.
